The Beach Chapel, a one story brick building on the Grand Strand, was completed in 1987. Utilizing nearly ten thousand square feet, the Beach Chapel features a 200 seat chapel, a complete music system with a wide variety of digital music for services, an organ, three large reposing rooms, spacious lobby, offices, public lounge, ample parking, casket selection room, vault selection room, and a complete cremation casket and urn display room. In addition to these facilities, a state of the art crematory is incorporated into the structure. This facility is located on four acres of land just north of Murrells Inlet. The location provides convenient access to the Myrtle Beach, Georgetown, Pawleys Island, Surfside & Garden City areas.

1974 graduate of the University of South Carolina and 1975 graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science. Member of the Board of Directors of United Way, Member of the Conway Medical Center Board of Trustees, Member of Conway Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club of Conway. Married to Susie N. Goldfinch and father to Meghan & Heyes.

Dan E. Buchanan
Chief Operating Officer
1970 graduate of King College, Bristol, TN; 1974 graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science, Atlanta, GA; 1984, M.A. Degree, Central Michigan University. He is a licensed Embalmer and Funeral Director. Attends Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church, North Myrtle Beach. Has two children and two grandchildren.

Edward H. Briggs
Vice President / Manager
1975 Graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science. Employed by Goldfinch Funeral Home since 1977. Past chairman of the SCFDA, Pee Dee Group. Appointed to the South Carolina State Board of Funeral Service by Governor Mark Sanford from 2003 until 2007, serving as president in 2007. Married to Patricia Floyd Briggs and father to Mandy and Josh, and 7 grandchildren.

Born & raised in Conway, graduated in 1995 from Fayetteville Technical Community College where he received his Associates Degree in Mortuary Science. Employed by Goldfinch Funeral Home since 1992. A member of Maple Baptist Church. Has a son, Lance.

Graduate of Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, owned and operated his own funeral home for 24 years in Ohio. Has been with Goldfinch Funeral Home since 1989. Member of Murrells Inlet Presbyterian Church and resides in Indigo Creek with his wife, Joyce.

Eric Matthew Lemons

Native of North Carolina, 1995 graduate of Rockingham College where he received his B.A. Degree. 1996 graduate Fayetteville Technical School where he received his Associates Degree in Mortuary Science. Has been in the funeral industry since 1992 and is licensed in both North and South Carolina. Employed with Goldfinch Funeral Home since 2000. Resides in Myrtle Beach with his wife Crystal and daughters Alexis & Ella. He also enjoys watching, playing, and coaching soccer.

Graduate of Lansing Community College where he received his A.A. and A.S. and an honors graduate of Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, where he received his B.S. in Mortuary Science and post graduate studies in Forensic Investigation. He has been employed in the funeral service since 1994. Resides in Pawleys Island with his wife Debbie, son Brian and daughter Alyssa.

Attended Sierra College of Roseville, CA, and is a 2005 graduate of Mid America College of Funeral Service in Indiana. There she received her Associates Degree in Mortuary Science. She enjoys the beach, camping, and spending time with her family. She moved from Elizabethtown, KY, and began her career with Goldfinch Funeral Home in 2006. She resides in Murrells Inlet with her husband Eric and daughters Hayli and Sophi.

Graduate of Sumter High School Class of '74, attended USC of Sumter, graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science Class of '94. Licensed funeral director, embalmer and Advanced Planning Funeral Director with 28 years experience in the insurance industry and 19 years experience in the funeral service. Don specializes in Advanced Planning Public Speaking for churches, civic clubs or organizations, retirement communities, youth or adults meetings, etc. Don was 2007 Advanced Planning Funeral Professional of the Year for Homesteaders Life Co. He and his wife Sharon are Gospel singers and attend Conway Church of God. Former Single's Minister, Youth Ministers, Officer of Men's Ministry, producer / director of Christian television program and have written and directed several drama presentations. Don and Sharon have one daughter, Bethany Donese Odom.

Cindy Jolliff
Administrative Assistant
Native of West Virginia, she moved to Myrtle Beach in 1984, and became employed with Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel in 1987 soon after it opened. The Loves of her life are her Lord, her husband David, whom she married in 1971, her children, Dave, Jr. and his wife Jessica, and Kari and her husband Chris, and especially her grandchildren, Mackenzie, Shayla, C.J. and Stella Grace. She loves spending time with her family and friends, being involved in community and church activities and traveling to new destinations. She feels her ministry in life is fulfilled by assisting families here at Goldfinch.

Moved to Conway from Georgia in 2003. Graduate of Forest Park High School and attended Southeastern College. Married to John, the pastor of Good Hope Baptist Church where she attends and is involved in leadership, choir and teaching. Enjoys her children, grandchildren, going to the beach, and traveling. Employed with Goldfinch Funeral Home since 2008.
