Murrells Inlet....Robert Arthur Frazier, age 89, died Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Agape Nursing Home in Conway following an illness.

Mr. Frazier was born November 11, 1920 in Newark, OH, a son of the late Edna and Robert J. Frazier. He was a member of Murrells Inlet Presbyterian Church, retired US Army Major of WWII, member of the Masonic Blue Lodge and American Legion in Dresden, OH for over 60 years, VFW in Zanesville, OH, life member of the Reserve Officers Association, past elder and trustee of Dresden Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Frazier was nominated for the Sun News "Volunteer of the year" in 1997 for his volunteer tutoring of children to read at St. James Elementary School for 7 years. He was a graduate of Medical Adm. School, Army Civil Affairs School, US Army Command and General Staff College, and graduated from Company Grade officers course of Army Intelligence School.

Mr. Frazier was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Jean Frazier and his brother, Herman Frazier.

Mr. Frazier is survived by his daughter, Robin Noel and her husband William of Jonesborough, TN, grandchildren, Erica Lathem and her husband Daniel of Newberry, Fl, and U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. William J. Noel of Wichita, KS, and great-grandchildren, Emily Lathem and Katelyn Lathem, both of Newberry, Fl.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel with Chaplain John Rea officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors at Florence National Cemetery, Wednesday 2 PM.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at the Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.
