William Carl Causey, Jr.

William (Bill) Carl Causey, Jr., age 75, passed away at his home in Murrells Inlet, SC on March 6, 2010. Carl was the son of the late William Carl Causey, Sr. and Johanna Rosalie Wigger Causey.

After graduating from high school, Carl entered the U.S Air Force, proudly serving four years as a cryptographer. He served most of his military career in England and Edinburgh Scotland.

Carl's home place, affectionately known as the "Ole Pecan Orchard" was a unique local attraction with farm animals roaming the orchard, enjoyed by children and adults.

He was a member of the Murrells Inlet Presbyterian Church, as were his parents, who generously donated the land that the current church is located on.

Carl was a lifetime member of the Franklin Lodge #96, Past Master of Shriner Omar Temple of Charleston, a charter member of the Scottish Society of Charleston, a member of the American Legion Post #3178 and a lifetime member of the VFW Post #10420.

Carl loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed fishing in Alaska for 13 years.

He was the former owner of Causey Sheet Metal Works Heating and Air Conditioning for 35 years in Charleston, SC.

He was predeceased by a son, William Carl Causey, III and a sister, Jeanette R. Causey.

He is survived by his loving wife, Becky Causey; two daughters, Christina M. Johnson, spouse, R. Wayne Johnson of Goose Creek and Angela N. Nuotilla, spouse, The Rev. David Nuotilla of Goose Creek; six grandchildren, Christina Johnson, Carl Johnson, Justin Johnson, Derek Johnson, Katie Nuotilla and Rachel Nuotilla.

The family will receive friends at the Little Memorial Chapel at 4499 Hwy 17 Bypass, Murrells Inlet located behind Murrells Inlet Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.

A celebration of Carl's life will be held at Murrells Inlet Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, March 10th, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Thomas J. Thornton officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Belin Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery. Friends may join the family at the Causey home following the service.
