Conway... Alice Tingler, fondly known as the Queen of Myrtle Trace, passed away peacefully in her home on June 4, 2018. Alice was an amazing woman whose seemingly endless energy, friendliness, and positive attitude was inspirational. Alice gave generously of her time and talents. She was an active member of St. James Catholic Church Ladies Guild. She belonged to the Garden Club, Sunshine Committee, Faith Group and Prayer Chain. She enjoyed singing in the Myrtle Trace Community Chorus. She loved being with people, attending parties, picnics and dancing. She was a special lady who offered a listening ear and a caring heart to anyone in need. Alice loved her family and her friends and she touched the lives of everyone she met in a special way. Alice was born April 21, 1919, in Brooklyn, New York to Anastasia (Bubnell) and August Victor Peters. On June 16, 1940 she married Clifton Kiesling, and they lived in Maspeth, New York. They had two children and moved to Center Moriches, New York. Alice was an executive secretary at the Brookhaven National Laboratory. When Alice and Clifton retired, they moved to Anderson, South Carolina. Clifton passed away in 1980. Alice married William Tingler and settled in Myrtle Trace in 1994. Alice is survived by her son, Robert Kiesling (Sally) and her daughter Suzanne Piazzola, Grandchildren, Dianne Piazzola Cox (Michael), Dan Kiesling (Sandy), Mary Kiesling, Vince Piazzola (Lisa), Tom Kiesling (Betty), Brian Piazzola, Ian Nagus (Kayce), and Drew Nagus, Great grandchildren, Rachel, Erica and Jason Kiesling, Rachel and Tyler Piazzola, Andrew, Joshua, Kaiya and Ethan Nagus. Alice will be greatly missed by her many dear friends and family. A mass will be held for Alice at The Catholic Church of St. James, 1071 Academy Drive, Conway, SC 29526 on Wednesday, June 13 at 11:00 AM with Father Timothy M. Lijewski, officiating. Visitation will take place at St. James following the service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
