Devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Ann Yvonne “Von” Jordan, peacefully passed away with loved ones by her side on November 15, 2023. Von was born to Marcus and Rosa Lea Jordan on April 10, 1939 in the Maple area of Conway, South Carolina. She was the eldest of three, a majorette in the color guard at Conway High School where she graduated in 1955, and a devout member of The First Baptist Church of Conway. She married her sweetheart Donald Herman Jordan Jr. on September 2nd,1956. Together they had 4 children: Cathy, Donald, Jo Ellen, and Jimmy; growing their family over 67 years to 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Von was a selfless and graceful servant of God. Her family, neighbors, and many in her community and across the world have been on the receiving end of her love and kind deeds. She is well known for organizing banquets and events, creating exquisite flower arrangements, and making fabulous meals, from her time in Germany during her husband’s Army tour through her later years at the First Baptist Church of Conway, Pilot Club, Iris Garden Club, and many of the schools in Horry County. She has sewn, stitched, and crocheted clothes, shaws, and blankets for cancer survivors, local theater performances, youth clubs, and many children, from her time owning The Little Red Cottage until her twilight years. For 17 years she worked at the Wacky Rabbit in Myrtle Beach, where she built life-long friendships that always remained close to her heart. Her love of gardening will live on not only from memories, but her backyard continues to thrive from her love, which was recognized as an Official Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. Von was a dependable woman of faith with a gentle, kind, and humble spirit; the embodiment of a southern lady. Von is preceded in death by her husband Donald H. Jordan Jr, parents Marcus L. Jordan and Rosa Lee Jordan, brother Buck Jordan, brother-in-law Jimmy Thomas, daughter Cathy Meryanos, and grandsons Jonathan Soles and Donald H. Jordan IV. She is survived by: children Donald H. Jordan III and wife Angela Jordan, Jo Ellen Strickland and husband Curtis Strickland, and Jimmy Jordan and life partner Kevin McBride; sister Lydia Thomas; grandchildren Theo (Kaely) Meryanos, Donna (Kim) Meryanos-Cohn, Jackie (Richie) Martin, Mary Ann (Scott) Cuthbertson, Tabitha (Chris) Sleep, Curt (Chelssie) Strickland, and Weston (Samantha) Strickland; great-grandchildren Emily Martin, Lauren Martin, Nathan Gianelli, Layla Gianelli, Jack Cuthbertson, Wade Cuthbertson, Cameron Sleep, Aubrei Sleep, Easton Sleep, Hayden (Kailey) Jordan, Erilynn Strickland, Charleston Strickland, Leanna Paton, Landon Strickland, Colton Strickland, and Jude Strickland; great-great-grandchildren Madalynn Jordan and Hudson Sleep, all of which she adored. Von’s loved ones will remember her for her faith, grace, poise, strength, determination, devotion, patience, kindness, and loving heart. She will be dearly missed, however the light she brought to the world will forever be a blessing to those who had the opportunity to know her. A service honoring the life of Von will be held at First Baptist Church of Conway at 2:00pm on Sunday November 19th, preceded with a visitation at 1:00pm.
