Anthony DiMaio

Conway.....Anthony "Tony" "Butch" DiMaio, age 63, of Helms Way, and formerly of Blackwood, NJ, died peacefully Sunday, August 19, 2007 at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer. His family and faithful pet Casey were by his side. Mr. DiMaio was born in Camden, NJ, a son of the late John and Frances DeFrank DiMaio. He was in the US Army Reserves. Mr. DiMaio was a loyal employee of Campbell Soup Company for 37 years. During his career, he worked at the Campbell Soup Equipment Center in Moorestown, NJ. He then transferred and eventually retired as a Purchasing Manager at their World Headquarters in Camden, NJ. Mr. DiMaio loved spending time with his family and doing home improvements for family and friends. He enjoyed golfing and taking Casino trips to Atlantic City, NJ. Mr. DiMaio was loved by all and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Surviving are: his loving and devoted wife of 42 years, Gail E. Gentek DiMaio of Conway, SC; two sons, Michael DiMaio and wife Danielle of Atco, NJ and David DiMaio of Longs, SC; two daughters, Tracy Pedano and husband Gregory of Margate, NJ and Michele Hutchinson and husband Andrew of Whiteville, NC; three grandchildren, Ashley and Gregory Pedano and Ava Hutchinson; one brother, Lawrence DiMaio and wife Lorraine of Williamstown, NJ; two sisters, Angelina Dickinson and husband Richard of Runnemede, NJ and Elena Hoffman and husband Milton of Mt. Laurel, NJ; mother-in-law, Iona Polaski; brother-in-law, Kelvin Gentek of Florida; nephew of Mafalda and Walter Piatek, and Harold Throneberry all of NJ; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be said at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 23, 2007 at St. James Catholic Church, with Father John Silver officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. A memorial service will be held in Blackwood, NJ at a later date. The family will receive friends from 9:00-10:30 AM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Incare Home & Health Care Hospice, 4685 Hwy. 17 S. Bypass, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
