Mrs. Bernice Doyal, 98, widow of the late Lacy Doyal, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Conway Medical Center following an extended illness. Born September 13, 1925 in Conway, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Nobles and the late Mattie Williams Nobles. Mrs. Doyal worked as a seamstress and was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church in the Pauley Swamp Community. She had many pastimes but her favorite was sitting on the front porch in her rocking chair and monitoring the passers-by on Dongola Highway. In her earlier years she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and quilting, and loved attending the annual military reunions with Lacy. She was an accomplished baker and was widely known for her delicious cakes. Mrs. Doyal loved her family and cherished the many trips to the mountains with them. She never tired of doing things for others. Mrs. Doyal was predeceased by her husband of nearly 50 years, Lacy Doyal; her parents, Oscar and Mattie Nobles; her daughters, Joyce Collins and Shirley Roach; her sisters, Victoria Moore, Euline Todd, and Verma Miller; her brothers, Jim Nobles, Neal Nobles, and Hal Nobles; and her son-in-law, Leon Graham. Survivors include her daughters, Elease Graham and Wanda Doyal; her grandchildren, Gary Graham, Lisa Richardson (Eddie), David Collins (Bridget), Julianna Britt (Anderson), Jessica Stoner (Paul), Trenton Elvis (fiancé Laurie), Courtney Rideout (Judge Robert W. Rideout, Jr.), and Cody Roscoe (Kaci); her great-grandchildren, Amber Schilberg (Dave), Will Collins, Carson Collins, Catherine Stoner, Avery Kate Elvis, Mila-Rae Roscoe, Beckett Elvis, and Rivers Roscoe; her great-great grandchildren, Leah Schilberg and Aiden Schilberg; her brother, Leigh Nobles; her sister-in-law, Rachel Nobles; and her sons-in-law, John Collins and Ronnie Roach. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Sunday, August 25, 2024 at Greenwood Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Joe Turner and Pastor Cliff Mixon. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Pauley Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery.
