Bice” Bud” Ward Jr. passed away peacefully on Monday June 10, 2024, at Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, SC surrounded by his loving family. Bice “Bud” Ward Jr. was born and raised in Socastee to the late Leona and Bice Ward Sr. Born on August 16, 1939, Bud was a man of great faith and love for God. Known for his kind heart, his compassion, generosity and unwavering love and support for his family and friends. Bud was a member of Heavenly Grace Ministries Church in Socastee where his dad hand-built brick by brick. A visionary entrepreneur and dedicated leader, Bud was a smart man with a keen sense for business. His Achievements and Legacy as founder, owner and CEO of various successful businesses was notable. Throughout his life he had a combined successful career as a developer and a builder, owning multiple restaurants and multiple car dealerships. With a deep commitment to his community Bud was a man of immense humor and wisdom. Bud treated everyone like family, and he met no strangers. He was proceeded in death by his loving wife Alice Macklen Ward in 2009. Bice “Bud” Ward Jr. is survived by his son Richard Ward and wife Melissa Ward of Socastee, daughters; Tammi Ward of Socastee and Sandra Ward of Socastee, grandchildren; Morgan and husband Brandon Missigman, Trevor Hancock, Madison and husband Colt Karnes and J. Bice Ward of Socastee; Great grandchildren; Sage Tyler, Bradley Tyler, Grace Karnes, Eloise Karnes, Alexander Missigman, Teagan Missigman, and due in June William Jack Karnes all of Socastee, One loving brother, William Henry Ward and wife Cheryl of Socastee . And a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Bud will be deeply missed by friend’s colleagues, and community. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Socastee United Methodist Church with burial to follow in church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 Pm on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Heavenly Grace Baptist Church in Socastee.
