Myrtle Beach... Mental-illness has claimed yet another life. Bonnie Marie Hanson, age 54, entered into God’s loving hands on Sunday, February 4, 2024. Bonnie was born on September 23, 1969 in Salem, MA, to Eydie L. Hanson and the late John “Jack” R. Hanson. She was a proud alumni of Salem State University with a degree in Nursing and worked as a registered nurse for the entirety of her working career, always aspiring to assist others in getting the help and care they needed. Bonnie was predeceased by her father, John “Jack” R. Hanson, and brother, Christopher N. Hanson. She is survived by her daughter, Gabrielle A. Hanson of Myrtle Beach and Newburyport, MA; her mother, Eydie L. Hanson of Myrtle Beach and Hamilton, MA; two brothers, John M. Hanson of San Diego, CA and Hamilton, MA and Daniel S. Hanson of Jacksonville, FL and Hamilton, MA. Bonnie was a devoted mother to her daughter, Gabrielle and her dog, Tilly. Bonnie was also a faithful friend, and loving sister and daughter. She loved camping and was an avid adventurer. She enjoyed modifying her Jeeps and taking them on off-road excursions, playing golf, gardening, doing puzzles, and playing cards. Bonnie also enjoyed doing volunteer work with Backpack Buddies and did various service projects with Wellspring Church. Anyone who knew Bonnie knows there was not a room she could not light up. Her personality was big, yet her heart was bigger. Bonnie was thoughtful, loving, passionate, and everything in between. Bonnie cared for others immensely and would give the shirt off her back to anyone. While we know mental illness took Bonnie’s life, it did not take her soul which rests in the hands of Jesus forever and ever, Amen. “I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, ‘Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.’ And the one sitting on the throne said, ‘Look, I am making everything new!’ And then he said to me, ‘Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.’ And he also said, ‘It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega–the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life.
