Conway...Services for Mrs. Brittie Lee Lewis Edge, 76, of Conway will be Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, at 3 p.m. at Brown Swamp United Methodist Church in Conway. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway. Mrs. Edge died Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, at Lexington Medical Center after battling cancer. Mrs. Edge was born Friday, Sept. 14, 1934. She was a faithful member of Brown Swamp United Methodist Church, serving Jesus, her Savior, and others through the board of United Methodist Women, the church choir, and as a United Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF) counselor. She was a member and former vice president of Palmetto Sam???s Camping Club, a member of the Horry Electric Ladies Wire Association, and a member of the Order of the Amaranth. She also served as a Girl Scout leader. She spent most of her life as an owner and operator of Venture Inn Motel in Myrtle Beach, where she was a gracious hostess to generations of vacationers. Mrs. Edge is survived by her beloved husband and soulmate of 57 years, Davis Wilson "Dave" Edge; children Gregory Davis "Gregg" Edge and spouse Tina Marie Edge of Statesville, NC; Davis Wilson "Dale" Edge Jr. and spouse Melody Turner Edge of Conway; and Tammy Edge Motley and spouse Robert Frederick "Rob" Motley Jr. of Lexington; grandchildren Shelley Edge Fiddner and spouse Scott Fiddner, Sarah Edge, Lizzy Edge, Hampton Motley, Will Motley, Edge Motley and Davis Motley; grand-dog Wilson; sisters Pearl Lewis Snowden of Moncks Corner; Vera (Milton) Johnson of Florence; Betty (Lavon) Hughes of Surfside Beach; and Margie (Robert) Lewis of St. Petersburg, Fla.; brothers Bob Lewis of Conway; and Willie Joe Lewis of Moncks Corner; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Green Lewis and Eliza Todd Lewis sister, Kathleen Vereen Lewis and brother Eugene Lewis.
