Carol A Parks

Carol A. Parks, age 53 of Prestwick entered her eternal rest on Wednesday, March 23, 2005. Born March 26, 1951 in Viroqua, WI, she was the daughter of Ethel Aspenson and the late Carl Aspenson. For the past 23 years, Carol was a discussion leader for Bible Study Fellowship, International, and led numerous other Bible studies and was involved in happy fellowship at Myrtle Beach Bible Chapel. She was a devoted wife and mother, tending to her children and home while her husband was traveling in an itinerant Evangelistic Bible teaching and singing ministry. Her home was always open for friends as well a new friends. Through their married life, the people they entertained in their home filled several Guest Books with heartfelt remarks of her loving care, sweet smile and Christ-like disposition. In later years, she exhibited the same qualities in her Mary Kay business, as well as her Interior Design business, Carol Parks Interiors. During a six month battle with cancer, Carol never changed. Her sweet smile and faith did not waver and she endured desperate hardship with uncommon grace and dignity. The most important day of her life took place in August of 1965 when she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. From that day forward, her life was lived to serve her Lord and others. Surviving in addition to her mother of Seneca, WI are her husband of 28 years, Alan; children, Shannon and Chris Parnell of Myrtle Beach, Alan, Jr. of Central, SC and his fiancée, Shannon Gifford of Clemson and Devin of Charleston; brothers, Loren, Daryl, Byron, Ramon, Randy, Rodney, Jay and their wives and sister, Sherri all of WI; twenty three nieces and nephews and brother in law Dr. Lindsay Parks and wife Diane and their children. We deeply mourn her loss but ?sorrow not as others devoid of hope?. Soon, we will meet her again, Perhaps today! She was preceded in death by a niece, Candace. Services will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Garden City Baptist Church directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. Interment will follow in Ocean Woods Cemetery where she will await the Rapture of the church. The family will receive friends from 10:00-1:00, Tuesday before the service at the church.
