Carol F. Dowdy Carol Burrows Fabian Dowdy, age 75, beloved wife and mother passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 16, 2008 at the National Healthcare Center, Garden City, South Carolina. Carol was born to Doris Lee Haraway Burrrows and Leroy Wallace Burrows in Richmond, Virginia on February 23, 1933. She was in the retail business, as a buyer for major department stores, for most of her life before settling down in Myrtle Beach, SC and opening hotel gift shops, which are still in the family. She was loved and respected by everyone who ever knew her, had the kindest heart and always the right words to say. She always reached out to help others in need. She lived with Parkinson's Disease for several years but still gave us all so much of her love until the very end. A member of Surfside United Methodist Church, Carol is survived by her husband Omar, her three children, Linda Gillespie and husband Ron of Surfside Beach, Kathryn Cavallone of Murrells Inlet, Stan Fabian and wife Marla of Litchfield, a sister Judy Martin of Murrells Inlet, a brother Paul Lonski and his wife, Roxanne, of Suffolk, Va. and her dear "Aunt Thellie" Clarke of Richmond, Va. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Rob Bowers and his wife Sondra of Pomaria, SC, Todd Bowers and his wife Alison of Charleston, SC, Carol Dellinger and her husband Brent of Charlotte, NC, Kim Parker and her husband Tim of Charlotte, NC, Lauren Fabian and Kristen Fabian of Litchfield, SC, seven great grandchildren, Ashlyn, Griff, Tyler, Hannah, Alexis, Desi and Kyleigh, a niece Debbie Hardy and her husband David of Richmond, Va., and two nephews, Jef Pace and his wife Judy of Virginia Beach, Va. and Mike Lonski and his wife Dee of Richmond, Va. and many dear friends who thought the world of her. A proud and loving grandmother, "nannie's" legacy will carry on through her grandchildren and great grandchildren. "Nannie" is also survived by her four grand-dogs, Lexie, Katie, P-nut Butter and Paris. A very special thank you to the staff at National Health Care in Garden City, SC, the NHC East Wing nurses and aides who loved mom and took care of her with such love and kindness. She loved each and every one of you. You all were her family. A memorial service, to celebrate her life, will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 4:00pm at The Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel in Garden City SC.
