Carolyn J. Webb Covington LITTLE RIVER | Carolyn Jean Webb Covington, 69, died peacefully on Saturday, July 7, 2007, after a long battle with Alzheimer?s disease. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her. Carolyn was born in Marshville, N.C. She grew up in Wilmington, N.C. and graduated from New Hanover High School NHHS in 1956. Carolyn continued her education at Wake Forest University and Bowman Gray School of Medical Technology, graduating in 1960 with a B.S. in chemistry. Carolyn began her career at James Walker Memorial Hospital Laboratory. She was employed at various hospitals throughout the states. She eventually worked for several manufacturers of laboratory analyzers and chemical reagents as a technical representative. She was very knowledgeable in her profession and respected by those with whom she worked and consulted. Carolyn traveled extensively throughout the U.S. to all major hospitals. She was a ?million mile frequent flyer.? Carolyn will always be remembered as the classic southern lady, she walked in grace and love of those around her. She always had that friendly smile that made us all feel welcome. Carolyn was predeceased by her parents, Hubert and Janie Moore Webb, of Wilmington, N.C. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, R. Scott Covington, of Little River; a sister, Helen Kermit Merritt of Holly Ridge, N.C.; several nieces and nephews; and a special nephew, Eddie Tommie Trusch of Hampstead, N.C. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. The family would like to thanks all the great people at Myrtle Beach Estates and Agape Hospice Group that provided Carolyn with such tender and loving care. You are a special group and we love you and thanks again.
