Corrine Pelham was born on July 30, 1955 in New Haven, Connecticut to Frank and Claire (Murphy) Patane. She passed away on February 23, 2025 after a long battle with cancer. She was only 69 years old. She is survived by her husband of 39 years Bob, her son Chris and his wife Angie Johnson, her sisters, Jill Fleming and Karen Patane, her brother Gary Patane, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Terry and Patty Sheehan, nieces Lauren and Megan, her best friend Susie Williams and many other loyal friends in her community in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. She was pre-deceased by her father and mother, Frank and Claire Patane. Corrine grew up in Seymour, Connecticut and graduated from Seymour High School in 1973. She was a veteran of the US Navy, having served 18 years. She attended Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Connecticut graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1990 with a Bachelor Degree in Communication. She worked as an administrative assistant for ITT, Black and Decker, AIG Financial and UBS in Connecticut. She retired in March of 2022 to her final home in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. Corrine had the biggest heart, the most beautiful smile and steel blue eyes. She had a witty and fun personality with a terrific sense of humor! She was fearless, spunky and independent, yet sensitive and incredibly compassionate. She loved lunching with her friends, going to the gym, vacations, swimming, puzzles, true crime content, her cats Beau and Jack, and gardening. Corrine was known for her strong will and unwavering determination. These qualities were a part of who she was, contributing to her physical and emotional strength. These qualities continued to help her deal with life’s challenges. She also loved and supported her family and community. Corrine was a strong fighter to the end. She is now sailing on a journey, to shores only she can see. We know that she is free from pain and is floating peacefully in the crystal-clear turquoise waters of her dreams. “Seeing death as the end of life is like seeing the horizon as the end of the ocean.” A visitation will be held from 11:00- 1:00 PM Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.
