Conway, SC Mr. Davis W. Edge, age 90, widower of the late Brittie Lee Edge, passed away at his home Saturday, November 2, 2024. Born January 19, 1934 in Conway, Mr. Edge was the son of the late Ira Hubert Edge and the late Maggie Dell Davis. He had a strong faith in his Lord and Savior and was lifetime member of Brown Swamp Methodist Church. He retired from Horry Electric Cooperative after a long career as a lineman and then supervisor and enjoyed every minute of it. He made many life-long friends there and stayed connected with his buddies often. Mr. Edge was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He and the love of his life, Brittie Lee owned the Venture Inn Motel in Myrtle Beach for 40 years where they developed lifelong customers and friends that would visit them annually. They also enjoyed RV'ing across the US with their friends in the Palmetto Sam's Camping Club. Davis and Brittie Lee were also members of the Sundancers Square Dance Group with their children and other couples. Above all else, though, he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren beyond words and enjoyed every minute spent with them. In addition to his parents, Mr. Edge was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Brittie Edge; his son, Gregg Edge; and his siblings, Virginia Sawyer and Jerry Edge. Survivors include his children, Davis W. Edge, Jr. (Dale) and wife Melody; Tammy Edge Motley and husband Rob; his grandchildren, Shelley Fiddner and husband Scott, Sarah Rogers and husband Alex, Eliza Terry and husband Ron, Hampton Motley and wife Debbie, Will Motley and wife Brittany, Edge Motley and wife Monika, and Davis Motley; his great-grandchildren, Isabella Fiddner, Eden Motley, Maggie Motley, Wren Motley, and Harbor Motley; his brother, Harvey Edge and wife Jennie Mae; his sisters, Bonnie Sue Peterson and husband Bob, and Angie Hucks and husband Duke; and many other extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 12:00PM Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Brown Swamp Church, officiated by Rev. Dave Wehrle. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
