Gresham, SC Mr. Donald Douglas, 93, husband of Edna Hucks Douglas, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 27, 2024, with his wife of 67 years and other family by his bedside. Born on October 27, 1930 in Yosemite, KY, he was the son of the late Fred Douglas and the late Angie Lyne Cain Douglas. Mr. Douglas proudly served his country, spending 20 years in the United States Air Force and serving during the Vietnam Conflict. He was an ardent supporter of former President Donald J. Trump, eagerly anticipating his latest rally speech, but sadly passed away just minutes before it aired. Following his military service, he worked for AVX Corporation, retiring after 20 years. Mr. Douglas was a diehard Kentucky Wildcats fan but he also enjoyed golf and fishing. He was a member of Green River Christian Church in Yosemite, KY and a 65 year member of Middleburg Masonic Lodge Number 594. Other interests included car shows and listening to George Jones. Above all his accomplishments in life, though, his greatest joy was his family. He loved them beyond words and will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, Mr. Douglas was predeceased by a grandson, Douglas Wallace and a brother, Joseph Douglas. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Edna Douglas; his daughters, Donna Holden and her husband Larry (Gresham), Terry D. Wallace (Gresham), and Gail Wunderlich and her husband Brad (Florence, SC); his brother, Ronald Douglas and his wife Patricia of Georgetown, KY; his grandchildren, Amanda Douglas (Gresham), Laura Holden and her husband Keem Owens (Gresham), Natalie Wallace and her husband Guillermo Pertegas (Little River), Haley Hill and her husband Ryan (Florence, SC), and Daniel Wallace and his wife Mandy (Green Sea); his great-grandchildren, Tristan Holden, Trayson Brown, LeeAnna Brown, Lauren Long, Hayden Hill, Charlie Hill, Marley Tomecko, Shelby Ruth Dennis, Wesson Walters, Madelyn Wallace, Joseph Wallace, and Richie Wallace. Graveside services will be held at Old Neck Cemetery at 3:30 PM on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, officiated by Jamie Hucks. The family will receive friends at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel, from 2:00PM-3:00PM.
