Edward Bordas Rana, age 75, of Pawleys Island, SC, passed away peacefully on Palm Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Born on October 27, 1950, in Arlington, Virginia, he was the son of the late Pelagio and Helen Bordas Rana. Ed married the love of his life, Sally, on June 23, 1973. Together, they built a life in Phoenix, AZ, where they raised their three children: Rachael, Matthew, and Paul. Ed attended Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria, VA and undergrad at Belmont Abbey College, NC. He earned his master’s degree from Grand Canyon University and built a distinguished career in corporate security at Avnet, traveling globally to investigate fraud. After retiring in 2012, he and Sally embraced their love of travel, exploring the United States and Canada with camera in hand. A passionate photographer, Ed found great joy behind the lens, with his work displayed in local art galleries in Georgetown and the Grand Strand area. He has been recognized for excellence in wildlife and nature photography both nationally and internationally. His high school motto, “Advance Always,” served as a personal mantra not only for his art, but throughout his life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Paul Rana; granddaughter, Tiffany Rana; great-grandson, Bentley Rana; sister, Barbara Stoutenburgh; brother, Larry Rana; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Chandler. He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Sally Rana; daughter, Rachael Robinson and her husband, Glen; son, Matthew Rana and his wife, Amanda; grandchildren, Zachary Robinson, Ava Rana, Cyrus Rana, Sol Rana, and Forest Rana; sister-in-law, Mary Rana; brother-in-law, Jay Stoutenburgh; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. With a camera in hand and love in his heart, Ed embraced life fully—leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories and enduring love. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday May 2, 2026 at Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church with inurnment in the church columbarium. The family is being served by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.
