Frank Rotolo, 70, of Conway and formerly of New York, passed away at his home on Sunday, December 31, 2023, with his loving family by his side. Frank was born June 30, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York, a son of Leonard Rotolo and Antoinette Galeotafiore Rotolo. Frank was preceded in death by both of his parents. In his early years, Frank’s passion for baseball led him to become a AA Major League Baseball player. During that time, he participated in the New York Yankees training camp and the spring training program. He was also a potential draft pick for the New York Mets. Besides baseball, Frank was also a major hockey fan, with his favorite team being the New York Rangers of course. He has an extensive collection of memorabilia from when the Rangers won the Stanley Cup in 1994. Later in his professional career, Frank was a proud New York City sanitation worker. He was also a responder during the September 11th terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. Frank was the type of person who would give the shirt off his back to someone in need. He also loved to bust people’s chops and make everyone laugh, even during the worst circumstances. Frank is survived by his loving and devoted family, including his beloved wife of 36 years, Donna Rotolo; his two sons who were his pride and joy, Frankie Jr. and Michael Rotolo; his sister Linda Jackson and her husband James; his sister Cathy Berg and her husband Benjamin; his brother Anthony Rotolo; as well as countless other extended family members and many friends, all who will forever cherish his memory. Frank’s family and friends will gather and visit during his wake on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Goldfinch Funeral Home of Carolina Forest (325 Hinson Drive, Myrtle Beach, SC 29579). A funeral mass to honor Frank will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 11:00 AM, also at Goldfinch Funeral Home. Immediately following the funeral mass, Frank will be laid to rest at the Hillcrest Cemetery Mausoleum in Conway, South Carolina (1000 Highway 544, Conway, SC 29526). In lieu of flowers, the family encourages people to make donations as a 'Tribute Gift' on Frank’s behalf to CurePSP (www.psp.org). Donations will help to fund better testing, treatment, and a potential cure for the condition that Frank suffered from for the past 6 years of his life, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.
