George Henry Rouillard, age 95, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023. Born April 16, 1928, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, he was the son of the late Leo Rouillard and Jeannette St. Pierre Rouillard. George was a devoted, faithful Catholic. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. George was a graduate of St. Francis College in New York City, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics. He was also a Boy Scout and achieved Eagle Scout status. George had a successful career, having retired from Westinghouse after more than thirty years. He served in the U.S. Army. He was an avid NY Yankees fan who became a Baltimore Orioles lover and was employed at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. He enjoyed bowling, square dancing, and collecting stamps. George spent many Saturdays at swim meets with his children throughout the years. As a devoted grandfather, he and his wife, Edith, also supported his grandchildren's activities and events. He always had a smile on his face. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Along with his parents, Mr. Rouillard was predeceased by his wife, Edith, of more than 63 years, a son, Edward Rouillard, and a sister, Cecile Gaffey. Surviving are his seven children, Liz Rogers (Lee), Michael Rouillard, Alice Allen (Tommy Alvey), Tricia Snyder (Norm), Thomas Rouillard (Nancy), Helen Miller (Jay), and Diane Cooke; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; two siblings, Leo Rouillard (Carol) and Helen Geib (James); and many loving nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at St. James Catholic Church in Conway, SC. Inurnment with Military Honors will take place at 4:00 PM at St. James Columbarium. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel, 606 Beaty Street, Conway, SC 29526.
