George W McCordy

Myrtle Beach George W. McCordy, Jr. George W. McCordy, Jr. age 74, formerly of Jeannette, PA, went to be with his heavenly Father December 2, 2010. He was born October 17, 1936 son of the late George and Lillian McCordy. Mr. George was employed by GenCorp. of Jeannette, PA for 40 years. He was an officer in the Local Union 22, and the Jeannette Rubber Federal Credit Union for many years. He also was Missionary Treasurer, Elder and Sunday school teacher of his local Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. George dearly loved the Lord and felt blessed to be able to teach young men about the Word of God. Many of his students are now Pastors in various churches. Since moving to Myrtle Beach he attended Real Life Church, South Strand Assembly of God and Beach Church. He really enjoyed the messages of Pastor Frank, Pastor Hayes and Pastor Dan. Also dear to George's heart was his relatives and friends in Myrtle Beach, SC Greenburg, Jeannette and Mahaffey Camp and Conference Center. Mahaffey, PA. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Carl and Bill Thomas; sisters, Edna Moore and Betty Klipa and his step-mother, Marge McCordy. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Helen McCordy of Myrtle Beach; a daughter, Pam Simon and her husband Dr. Larry of Myrtle Beach; a son, Brian G. McCordy of Myrtle Beach; God blessed them with four grandchildren, Jennifer Simon Bryant and her husband Kevin, Jessica Simon O'Keefe and her husband Ryan, Jonay Simon and Jordan Simon; five beautiful great-grandchildren, Tyler and McKayla Bryant, Caden, Macie and Reagan O'Keefe; his brothers, Mike McCordy, Rob McCordy and wife Cindy; sisters, Margie McCordy and Dr. Debbie Rolfe and husband Gary. Also dear to his heart were his sisters and brothers in-law and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. Burial will be at Twin Valley Memorial Park in Delmont, PA. Family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 PM Sunday prior to the service.
