Hazel C Harvill

Hazel Cannon-Harvill Hazel Cannon-Harvill age 87, of Agape Senior in Garden City, died Monday, August 10, 2009 at Waccamaw Community Hospital. Born June 4, 1922 she was the daughter of the late Edna Soles Floyd and James Clyde Floyd, Sr. of Conway, SC. Mrs. Harvill graduated from Green Sea High School with honors and received a degree in Business Administration from Bowen's Business College in Columbia, SC. She and her first husband, the late Eugene H. Cannon, moved from Conway to Murrells Inlet in 1959 where they owned and operated Cannon's Food Store for 20 years. Mrs. Harvill was a member of Belin United Methodist Church since 1959 and was very active and instrumental in starting many new programs at the church and the United Methodist Women. She was a past member of the Surfside Round Dance Club, member and past president of the Waccamaw Garden Club, and was an accomplished floral arranger. She was predeceased by her first husband Eugene H. Cannon, a sister, Ramona Floyd Dellinger of Atlanta, GA; her former husband, James E. Harvill; a brother, James C. Floyd, Jr. of Raleigh, NC. Survivors include a son, John W. Cannon and wife Joye of Dallas, NC; a daughter, Linda Cannon Rowan and husband Terry of Murrells Inlet, SC; three grandchildren, Trent Cannon and wife Lisa of Dallas, NC, Anne Cannon Whitener and husband Josh of Mt. Holly, NC and Ralph M. Hendrix III; five great-grandchildren, Isaac Hendrix, Brooke Hendrix, Grant Whitener, and twin girls, Ashley and Savannah Cannon; three step-granddaughters, Heather Levine, Jacqueline Gonzalez, and Jessica Schrock; three nieces, Donna Floyd Lariree, Denise Dellinger Graham, and Deborah Floyd Comfort and a nephew , Keith Dellinger. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 13, 2009 at Belin Methodist Church with The Reverend Dr. B Mike Alexander, Jr. and Reverend Maurice E. Nason officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.
