Myrtle Beach...Hazel Winn Edge, 81 of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away quietly surrounded by her loving husband and children on August 16, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Evan Winn and Florence Ailene Culbreath Winn. Mrs. Edge was born at home on February 27, 1931 in Edgefield County. She graduated from Edgefield High School in Edgefield, SC in 1947. She later graduated from Columbia Commercial College in 1948 where she met the love of her life, Muldrow Jackson "Bud" Edge, whom she married on December 18, 1949. Hazel went to work for S.L.E.D. upon graduation from college and retired from the ABC Commission in Columbia after 30 years of employment in 1984. She received the highest civilian award granted by a Governor in 1984, the order of the Palmetto. Hazel and Bud moved back to old home place in the Hand Community of Horry County, SC in 1984. Mrs. Edge is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Patricia Ann Winn; twin grandsons, Adam and Aaron Edge; triplet granddaughters, Reece, Vivian and Sophia O'Sullivan; and a son-in-law, Steve Nolan. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Muldrow J. "Bud" Edge and her three children; Delores Nolan of Wytheville, VA; Nancy Kibler (Randy) of Fort Mill, SC and Donald "Buddy" Edge (Brenda) of Edgefield, SC; one brother, Joseph E. "Jack" Winn (Shirley) of Edgefield, SC; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Her grandson, Tyler Edge will be serving as an Honorary pallbearer. Mrs. Edge was loved very deeply by her family and was the "glue" that held the family together. She was a selfless woman and was loved by all that knew her. Her love was unforgettable and far-reaching. Her sweet and loving spirit lifted, protected, nurtured and encouraged everyone she met. She was the true definition of what it meant to be a mother, wife and friend and was of the Baptist faith. Funeral Services will be held Saturday 2:00pm at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel with Chaplin John Rea officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. A celebration of her life will be held after the service at Reflections Assisted Living in Carolina Forest in Myrtle Beach, SC.
