Conway… Hazel Singleton, age 95, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023. Mrs. Singleton was born May 8, 1928 in Conway, SC. She was the oldest retiree of Conway National Bank having served for over 40 years. Mrs. Singleton was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church where she served in various capacities, including Sunday School Secretary for many years. She enjoyed traveling and going to the beauty shop every Friday. Mrs. Singleton will be most remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She truly was a Proverbs 31 woman. Mrs. Singleton was predeceased by her husband, Alvin Singleton; her parents, Mae Hardee, Bath Causey, and Oliver Hardee; and her great grandson, Parker McKnight. She was the last of the "Hardsey" crew, being predeceased by her brothers, Elbert Causey, Vernon Causey, Carl Causey, George Hardee, H.B. Hardee, and Oliver Hardee, Jr. and her sisters, Myrtle Dorman, Jo Stevens, Jacqueline Causey, Sylvia Booth, Della Salley Buddin, Gen Lilly, and Elise Booth. Survivors include one son, Glenn Singleton (Linda) of Conway; one daughter, Wanda Singleton (Mark) of Conway; four grandchildren, Dana Meadows (Jason) of Myrtle Beach, Lindsay McKnight (Jamey) of Conway, Christopher Singleton (Elizabeth) of Conway, and Corey Singleton of Galivants Ferry; and five great grandchildren, Fletcher Meadows, Caroline Singleton, Cole Singleton, Lucas McKnight, and Art Singleton. The family would like to give a special thanks to caretakers Shirley Rabon and Bil Stanley; Allison Riddle, Sherry Marrello, and all the staff of Amedysis Hospice for their loving care and support. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Good Hope Baptist Church with Rev. John Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Good Hope Baptist Church, 6101 Privetts Road, Conway, SC 29526.
