James Brewer

JAMES R BREWER SR Jams R Brewer, Sr, 67, passed away at his home in Myrtle Beach, SC on October 12, 2009. James was born in Harrison City, PA on June 10, 1942. He graduated from Norwin High School in 1961 and immediately entered the US Army. He was an employee of US Steel, ET Works in Braddock PA for 35 years prior to retiring to Myrtle Beach in 1997. He enjoyed working with the TSA in Myrtle Beach until retirement; but he was most proud of his recent endeavors with Andy OnCall of Myrtle Beach. He was a former active member with his son in the boy scouts, North Huntingdon Democratic Committee Member, Local 1219 USWA, American Legion Post 0178, and St Michael's Catholic Church, Garden City, SC member. He passed peacefully with his wife Dolores, son James, Jr., grandson Michael and brother John at his side as he joined his daughter Joanne Rice Lee, parents Wayne, Sr and Evelyn Schmidt Brewer, in-laws Alvin and Adeline Waselesky Zagar, Sister Shirley Belmont, Nephew Ronnie Brewer and Niece Patricia Zagar in God's hands. Survived by his wife Dolores (Zagar) Brewer and son James Brewer, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC; Grandchildren Christopher A. Brewer (Vicki) of Hickory, NC; Michael Rice; Erin and Carson Brewer; Step-grandchildren Zachary Hietala, Elizabeth, Shane, Joey and Katy Lee; Great-grandchildren Alexis and Avery; Brothers John (Roberta) of Turtle Creek, PA, Ronnie (Marion) of Irwin, PA, Donnie (Bernie) of Ruffsdale, PA, Wayne Jr."Bud" (Sarah) of Irwin, PA, Sisters Alvira (Michael) Jupin of Irwin, PA, Sandra (Bruce) Fisher of Harrisburg, PA; Brothers-in-law Donald (Anne Marie) Zagar of Prospect, CT, Richard (Gayle) Zagar of New Alexandria, PA, William Belmont of Decatur, GA; Son-in-law Ken Lee of Pitcairn, PA, his beloved kitten "Pink" and a host of extended family members and friends as well. A celebration of his life with us will be held on Thursday October 15, 2009, at 6:00 pm at Goldfinch Beach Chapel in Murrells Inlet, SC, and on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 1:30 pm at the Vincent V Rodgers Funeral Home, 805 Pennsylvania Ave, Irwin PA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Michael's Catholic Church, Garden City SC or an organization of the donor's choice.
