Janie Lee Golliday

With profound sadness and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Janie Lee Golliday, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed this life on June 13, 2026 at the age of 76. Born on April 19, 1950 in Baltimore, MD, Janie made her home in Wake Forest, NC, where she devoted herself to her family, faith, and community. She was the cherished wife of George Golliday for 59 years and a loving mother to Sandy and George. A woman of unwavering faith, Janie was a devoted member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. She served faithfully as a Eucharistic Minister, bringing comfort, compassion, and spiritual nourishment to countless parishioners through her ministry. Her dedication to her church reflected her deep love of God and her commitment to serving others. Janie also took great pride in her heritage and was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She valued history, patriotism, and preserving the stories of those who came before her, sharing that appreciation with family and friends. Known for her kindness, gentle spirit, and generous heart, Janie found joy in caring for those she loved. Whether gathering family around the table, volunteering in her community, or offering a listening ear to a friend in need, she made everyone feel welcomed and valued. Her wisdom, grace, and sense of humor will be dearly missed and forever remembered. She is survived by her devoted husband, George, her loving children, Sandy and George; her cherished grandchildren, Alex, Kelsey, Brady, Aubrey, and Chase; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Doris Haag; and sisters Carole Haag Warnecka and Amy Haag Fields. Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we take comfort in knowing that Janie's legacy of faith, love, service, and devotion will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. A funeral Mass will be held at 1 PM on July 8, 2026 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church located at 520 West Holding Avenue, Wake Forest, North Carolina 27587, which will be followed immediately by the internment of ashes.
