Jeannette B. Todd Murrells Inlet Jeannette B. Todd, 69, beloved servant of God, wife, and mother, passed away surrounded by her husband, children, and grandchildren on Monday, July 6, 2009 after a brief battle with cancer. Born May 30, 1940 in Clifton, SC, Jeannette was one of three daughters to the late Edgar Burrell and Mary Marsh. Mrs. Todd was a devoted and humble servant of Christ and spread the message to everyone she knew. She never met a person in need that walked away empty handed and without experiencing God's love first hand. For twenty-two years she was a military wife and enjoyed traveling the world with her family. In 1980 she remarried and has continued to travel, garden, and read everything she could get her hands on. Mrs. Todd was passionate about reading and collecting and selling antiques and collectibles. She loved traveling to see her children and sisters and spending as much time with them when they would come to her home throughout the year. She enjoyed traveling with her husband in their RV, as long as she could "fuss about his driving." She was a devoted wife who loved and cared for her husband, Olden, for nearly 30 years. Mrs. Todd was an anchor to her family and many friends. She will be especially missed at Christmas, as her humble generosity to those in need was foremost in her mind. She sponsored families, children, and strangers with food, clothing, or money throughout the year, but more so at the holidays so nobody had to go hungry or alone. She shared this generosity with every member of her family and close friends and taught her children that if they always put God first in their lives then everything you need will follow. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Olden Chester Todd, Sr.of Murrells Inlet; three daughters, Dana Clark and her husband Rick, Lisa Oroson and her husband Bryan of Outer Banks, NC, and Rebecca Helms and her partner Tammy Haight of San Diego, CA; six sons, Vann and Joe Helms of Myrtle Beach, Leonard Helms of Las Vegas, NV, Chester and David Todd of Myrtle Beach, and Leroy Todd and his wife Charlie of Myrtle Beach; two sisters, Frances Sides and her husband Bobby of China Grove, NC and Dale Brown and her husband Elvis of Freeport, FL; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held 5:00 PM Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel with Rev. Dennis Felder officiating.
