Jerry Dale Kiser passed away peacefully at Medical University of South Carolina on Saturday, November 26, 2005 while surrounded by the love of, his wife Linda, two daughters, his Mother and other family members. Born on December 10, 1953 in Fort Campbell, KY, he was the son of Mrs. Ina Kiser of and Sergeant Major Ret Benjamin Kiser. With his father being in the military, Jerry had the opportunity to travel to such places as Germany, Okinawa and Australia. He graduated from the 71st High School in Fayetteville, NC from there, he moved to Kansas to learn the building trade. Once back in the Surfside Beach area, he ultimately established Well Built Homes Construction Corporation and later Well Built Homes Sales and Service, LLC. He was one of the premier custom home builders in The Lakes and other communities to include Prestwick, Wachesaw Plantation and The Reserve. Jerry was an avid worker and had a passion for being at his job sites. He loved what he did! He believed in the dignity of work and respected the dignity of working people. He set the bar high when it came to upholding his company name. His high standards are evidenced by the caliber and professionalism of the people he employed. Jerry was a member of Garden City Baptist Church and although he did not attend services on a regular basis, his Faith in God remained strong. He was a member of the Horry-Georgetown Home Builders? Assoc. and received many accolades throughout his career ranging from neighborhood appreciation parties for his support through Hurricane Hugo to Santee Cooper?s Builder of the Year and numerous Parade of Homes winner awards. He recently applied for his South Carolina General Contractor?s Certificate as he was in the process of diversifying his business. Jerry was a serious man concerned for his family as much as his health. He was honest, fair, easy going and was well known for his dry sense of humor. He loved to golf and he loved to just talk and share stories. He will be sorely missed. Surviving in addition to his parents of Surfside Beach are his wife, Linda Frank Kiser; daughter, Crystal Kiser of PA; step daughter, Jennifer Loux of Murrells Inlet; sisters, Kathy Lounsberry of Ocean Springs, MI and Tammy Lewis of Murrells Inlet; nieces, Amanda, Nancy and Betsy; nephew, Nathan; brothers in law and sisters in law, Jimmy and Donna Frank of Surfside Beach and Alan and Karen Frank of Hopewell, NJ; father and mother in law, Edward and Shirley Frank of Gloversville, NJ and nephews and nieces, Bryan, Sarah, Emily and Lisa Frank. Services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday at Garden City Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00, Wednesday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.
