Joyce Chase Cushing, 87, of Myrtle Beach was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Friday, October 27, 2023 at Conway Medical Center. Joyce was born July 11, 1936 in Janesville, WI and was raised by her parents Floyd Milk Chase and Ethel Caroline Chase. She met Ken through her best friend, Myrte, and married him on July 11, 1961. After having three children, they moved to Myrtle Beach in 1970. In addition to raising her children and fostering multiple other children, Joyce spent many years in the banking industry, starting out as a teller and working her way up to loan management. Her greatest joy was watching her children grow into adults and having children and grandchildren of their own. She loved spending time with family, playing games, solving puzzles, studying and reading the Bible, and attending Bible studies with many sweet and precious friends. She was a charter member of Surfside Presbyterian and loved her church. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Kenneth Charles Cushing; brother Jerry Chase; and sister Ruthie Winstead. Survivors include son Jimmy C Cushing and daughter in law Gwen Cushing of Irmo, SC; daughters Krista C Booth and husband Jimbo of Myrtle Beach, SC, Karoline C Dickerson and husband Johnny of Great Falls, SC; brother in law Nathan Winstead; grandchildren James Booth III and wife Alisha, Alex Booth and wife Kara, Ryan Cushing and wife Michele, Chad Cushing, Dani Degrennia and husband Shane, Cole Dickerson, Beka Petillo and husband Patrick, Max Cushing; great grandchildren Jeremiah, Jackson, Payton, Eliza, Gemma, Rosie, Christian, Caiden, Camryn; and special niece Joyce Brown. A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 6, 2023 at Surfside Presbyterian Church with Rev. Brian Peterson and James E Booth III officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service. The family will have a private burial at Ocean Woods Cemetery in Myrtle Beach, SC. Pallbearers will be Johnny H Dickerson, William Cole Dickerson, Shane Degreenia, James E Booth II, Alex Booth, Patrick Petillo, Jeremiah Booth and Jackson Booth.
