June Price Higgs, age 64, formerly of Port Republic, MD, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014, in Loris, SC. Mrs. Higgs was born in Laurel, MD, a daughter of the late Robert P. Stevens and the late Joan Dotson Stevens. She had the biggest, strongest, kindest, and warmest heart with a strong will to live. Mrs. Higgs was overjoyed with a great sense of humor and enjoyed playing small practical jokes. She loved majorettes, clogging, shagging, and all types of dance. Mrs. Higgs loved country and beach music, the 50's lifestyle, specific TV and game shows, shopping, creating holiday decorations and costumes, playing cards, traveling, camping and most of all spending time with her family and friends. She was always smiling and laughing. Mrs. Higgs could fill you up with her happiness and was very unselfish. She was even smiling, laughing, comforting and so caring for her family, instead of worrying about herself during the fight for her life. Mrs. Higgs was predeceased by a grandson, Cody Craven Smith. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Paul Higgs of Loris, SC ,to which she was a loving and devoted wife and companion; two sons, Robert Paul Higgs of Lusby, MD, and Tad Russell Higgs of Mechanicsville, MD; one daughter, Robin Lynn Sisk (Robert) of St. Leonard, MD; seven grandchildren, Kelie Lynn Avery, Kelsey Nicole Smith, Ethan Paul Higgs, Korrie May Smith, Shane Joseph Higgs, Karmen Kennedy Sisk, and Leelynd Harris Higgs; two great-grandchildren, Caiden James Reigle and Ryleigh Lynn Minson; one sister, Joanne Allen (Kenny), and her beloved dog of 14 years, Oscar. The family thanks the Lord for giving them the time they have had with this magnificent woman. She will be truly and greatly missed. Please keep her in your hands while she is forever in our hearts, and stand by her while we know she is now a smiling Haloed Angel watching over us. We all love her very much and know this is not goodbye, but it is see you later.
