Kathleen Yahn, age 79, passed away suddenly January 1, 2024, at Conway Medical Center with her husband by her side. Kathleen was born on October 6, 1944, in Buffalo, NY, to the late Earl and Jeanne Raymond. It is difficult to sum up a life in so few words, for a person that impacted the world in such a tremendous manner. Kathleen was very devoted to her family, whom she loved very much. She was a dedicated Military wife. Kathleen was very generous and always available to those who needed her. Kathleen touched many lives through her work with Girl and Boy Scouts, bible study groups, and nursing to name a few. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. She and David travelled the world for the 21 years he was in the Air Force. She supported numerous Air Force Wive’s groups and military members to enrich their military experience. Her love of travel and knowledge didn’t stop there. They went to Italy on several occasions to visit her daughter and grandchildren during her son-in-law’s deployments. She also planned many trips with her grandchildren. The goal of each trip was to create happy memories. Kathleen loved to cook and was well known for her world-famous Beef Stroganoff. In addition, Kathleen was a dedicated R.N. for over 20 years at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. She helped to instruct and precept many new nurses. She instilled dedication and perfection among a legacy of new nurses. Kathleen is survived by her husband and best friend of over 58 years, David; daughter Rachel and her husband Richard of Rogue River, OR; son David of Slidell, La; grandchildren, Ethan and Brendan; her two loyal companions, her dogs Molly and Coco, who seem lost without her. She is remembered fondly by many extended family members and friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Mepkin Abbey in Monks Corner, SC at a date to- be -determined.
