A loving husband, father, brother, uncle, sailor, and a lover of life, Kurt Franz Diessner, age 71, entered his eternal rest on February 22, 2021. Along with our Lord, he was greeted by his father John, mother Maria and brother John Diessner. Kurt is survived by his wife Selma, sister-in-law Kathy Diessner, sister Maria Pilipski, brother Matthew Diessner and wife Donna. He and his wife of fifty years, Selma, raised four children: Jason (Shadow) Diessner, Inez (Chad) Hannon, Stacy (Todd) Ferris, and Nickole (Kevin) Dooley; six grandchildren Andrea and Nathan Diessner, Noah (fiancé Julia Sudduth), Gabe and Lillian Hannon, and Olivia Dooley. Kurt loved his nieces, nephews and their families as his own children: Amy, Gena, Ian, Damien, Seth, Jacob, Lucas, Kathleen, Laura, Stephanie, Danielle and Denise. Last but not least, their beloved dogs Trixie and Sandy. Kurt was a role model who inspired his loved ones to live their lives to the fullest, and they will continue to honor his legacy. He took pride in his family and his work. Since showing a mechanical inclination in childhood, Kurt spent 40 years in the field he loved, retiring in 2011 from Grocery Haulers Inc. Kurtie and Sam’s passion for sailing on Vidazzled II (the dazzled life) took them from New Jersey to the Gulf Coast. The journey was amazing. Kurtie and Sam lived life to the fullest traveling across our beautiful country in their RV in Vidazzled III. The simplest pleasure of being on a beach - with warm sun against his skin and sand between toes, bobbing in the water - was a day well spent. The day always ended with gratefulness, a full heart and a gin and tonic. “May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.”…Irish Blessing.
