Lawrence M Arnold

Mr. Lawrence M. "Larry" Arnold, age 72, died Sunday, May 25, 2008, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. Born in Cambridge, OH, he was the son of John E. and Margaret Ann Lerner Arnold. Mr. Arnold was a band director and music educator. He was a member of and choir director for Kingstree United Methodist Church and a former member of and choir director for Socastee United Methodist Church. Mr. Arnold was a member of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America, a member and past president of the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, and former state chair of the Pennsylvania chapter of the American School Band Directors Association. Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Corder Arnold of Murrells Inlet; seven sons: Timothy Arnold of Asheville, NC, Jeffrey Arnold of Lore City, OH, Terry Arnold of Austin, TX, Larry Arnold of Columbia, SC, Jonathan Arnold of Winston Salem, NC, Benjamin Arnold of Lebanon, PA, Jesse Arnold of Murrells Inlet, SC; one daughter: Jacqueline Sue Lagneaux of Cambridge, OH; three brothers: Jack Arnold of Burbank, CA, David Caygill of Palm Desert, CA, Michael Caygill of Grandview Heights, OH; a brother- in- law, George James of Southern Pines, NC; fifteen grandchildren: Robyn Moore, Daren Lagneaux, Lesley Lagneaux, Jordan Arnold, Kelly Arnold, Levi Arnold, Hailey Elizabeth Arnold, Sean Arnold, Alex Arnold, Tess Elizabeth Arnold, Kyle Arnold, Eli Arnold, Christian Arnold, Connor Arnold, and Jonah Arnold; three great grandchildren: Isaiah Abel, Brianna Abel, and Madelynn Lagneaux; two stepchildren: Jessica Kristich and Christopher Kristich of Murrells Inlet, SC. Mr. Arnold was preceded in death by his former wife, Delores Nelson Arnold; daughter, Julie Ann Arnold; sister, Phyllis James. A memorial service, directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel, will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 30, 2008 at Socastee United Methodist Church with Rev. David Marcey officiating, assisted by Rev. Cliff Gilmer. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, 107 Westpark Blvd., Suite 150, Columbia, SC 29210.
