Linda Jackson Santopietro Linda Jackson Santopietro, 72, passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, July, 7, 2026, following her brief illness. During her final days, Linda was surrounded and lovingly cared for by her family, who will forever treasure the evenings they spent talking, laughing, and sharing memories. Linda was born on September 10, 1953, in Springfield, Massachusetts, to James Jackson and Hilda Bridges. She spent much of her adult life in Georgia, where she built enduring friendships and enjoyed a long and accomplished career as a court reporter before retiring in 2016. For 25 years, Linda shared her life with her beloved husband, Nicholas Santopietro. Married for 21 years, Linda and Nick built a life rich with family, friendship, adventure, and travel. They explored the world together as often as they could, frequently accompanied by close friends from Georgia. Their travels included river cruises, many visits to Italy and throughout Europe, and journeys to Singapore, China, Russia, and beyond. Linda had a deep love for Italy and embraced the opportunity to experience new places, cultures, and people. Linda's concern for children extended far beyond her own family. For many years, she volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), lending her time, energy, and voice to children in foster care. She also volunteered with orphanages in Russia and China. Her compassion for vulnerable children, both at home and abroad, was an important and enduring part of her life. Five years ago, Linda and Nick moved from Georgia to South Carolina and she quickly became an active and cherished member of the Wachesaw Plantation community. She organized and participated in neighborhood holiday events, was involved with Women of Wachesaw (WOW), and created and managed the neighborhood Facebook group. In only a few years, she developed a wide circle of dear friends and became an important part of the community she called home. Linda had a remarkable gift for bringing people together. Within her family, she was a friend, a confidante, and the glue that brought everyone together and kept them close. She delighted in visits from her grandchildren and made a point of spending meaningful time with them. She was equally devoted to her friendships and maintained a social life filled with gatherings, celebrations, travel, laughter, and conversation. Many happy hours were spent with friends at Kimball's with a glass of her favorite prosecco in hand. Linda will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, her generosity, her compassion, her loyalty to the people she loved, and her ability to create connection and community wherever she went. She leaves an immeasurable space in the lives of the family and many friends who loved her. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, James Jackson and Hilda Bridges, and her siblings, Deborah Fordham and James Jackson. She is survived by her husband, Nicholas Santopiatro; her daughters, Michelle Duncan and Christina Edwards; her brother Michael Watson; her grandchildren, Joshua Royals, Peyton Jimerson, Erik Wuesthoff and his wife Ariel, Noel (Wuestoff) Zheng and her husband Stanley, Emilee Wuesthoff, Victoria Wuesthoff, and Martin Wuesthoff; and her great-grandchildren, Penelope Sheng and Joshua Royas, Jr.. She is livingly remembered by Scott Santopietro; Michelle (Santopietro) and Martin Wuesthoff; nieces and nephews, and many extended family members and treasured friends in Georgia, South Carolina, and beyond. In accordance with Linda's wishes, no funeral service will be held. A celebration of her life will be planned and announced at a later date.
