Tributes

Lloyd Kester Moore, age 78, of Pee Dee Hwy, died Sunday, July 29, 2007 at Conway Manor following an illness. Mr. Moore was born in Conway, SC, a son of the late Lloyd Wheaton and Blanche Smart Moore. He was a US Air Force veteran and retired from the US Army reserves with 35 years of service. Mr. Moore also retired with 32 years of service as an Air Traffic Controller from the Federal Aviation Agency. He was also employed as an aerial photographer for Berry & Associates and Metro Engineering. Mr. Moore was a member of the Pauley Swamp Baptist Church in Conway, SC, Masonic Lodge #70 in Hampton, GA, and the Log Cabin Squares in Fayetteville, GA. He attended college at both Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC and Auburn University in Auburn, AL. Mr. Moore?s training for the US Air Force included his Primary Training at Stallings Air Force Base- 3308 and Pilot Training Squadron Class 54 ABC. He loved square dancing, motorcycles, and flying. Mr. Moore will always be remembered as a wonderful and loving husband and devoted father and grandfather. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Lewis Moore in May of 2007. Survivors include: three sons, Lloyd Fox, Thomas Kester Moore and his wife, Tenia, of Jenkinsburg, GA, Tracy Lamar Moore and his fiancee, Kim May, of Jonesborough, GA; a daughter, Mary Forbes Page and her husband, Winton, of Savannah, GA; a daughter-in-law, Millie Glasgow of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Kelsey Moore, Katie Hirsch, and Chris Fox. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday from Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel with Dr. Terry Grainger officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow at Pauley Swamp Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Pauley Swamp Baptist Church, 6840 Pauley Swamp Rd., Conway, SC 29527. The family of Mr. Moore would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Conway Manor and Agape Hospice for their care and support during this difficult time.
