Myrtle Beach– Lonnie Richman passed away peacefully on Friday, February 27, 2026. He was lovingly holding the hand of his wife of almost 25 years, Susan, while she was recounting their love story to a nurse. Lonnie was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to parents William and Jeane Richman. He spent most of his life in Philadelphia where he enjoyed a successful career in finance as a CPA and financial advisor and ultimately as a CFO for the Philadelphia School District. Lonnie loved the beach, and in 2012, he and Susan relocated to Surfside Beach, South Carolina, where they built their dream home and were able to drive their golf cart to the beach. In 2022, they moved to Brightwater Senior Living Community in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He loved going on cruises, savoring street food, and dining out with friends. Whether exploring a new port or trying a new local spot, Lonnie was always ready for good company and a good meal. He loved all kinds of music and kept his own playlists on his phone to listen to whenever he was in the mood. A devoted sports fan, he especially loved watching NFL football. Lonnie had a special place in his heart for animals, especially cats, and his kindness extended to every creature he met. He had a tender heart for those who knew him. Naturally funny and quick-witted, Lonnie brought joy to those around him. He loved a good bargain and was a skilled negotiator who took pride in finding the best possible deal. "Target Tuesdays" were a favorite tradition, and Lonnie enjoyed shopping, collecting special finds, and sharing his excitement over a great purchase. He was passionate about cars, golf carts, and ultimately walkers/rollators. Above all, Lonnie Richman will be remembered as a kind soul, a loyal friend, and a man who lived fully and loved deeply. His laughter, warmth, and generous heart will be missed by all. He is survived by his wife, who he lovingly referred to as his Queen, Susan Richman, and his son Darrin Richman. Funeral arrangements are private. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
