Loris... Mrs. Lucille Little Gore entered eternal rest on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at McLeod Health Hospital in Loris, SC. She was born December 3, 1937 to the late Glenn Little and the late Dallie Gearld Little. Lucille joined Sweet Gum Missionary Baptist Church at a young age. After graduating from Finklea High School, she married Rev. James Alton Gore, Jr. and to this union three children were born. Lucille and her family lived in Florida, New Jersey, and returned back to Loris, SC for their permanent residence. She worked at Loris Manufacturing and later Conway Mill until she retired. Lucille served as the church secretary at Sweet Gum Missionary Baptist Church for a total of 50 years, and she was faithful to her duty until her demise. Lucille was known to most as "Grandma". Even visitors from other churches would want to speak to "Grandma". Lucille was a human calculator and very passionate about music. She loved to hear "At the Close of the Day" and "Ain't Nothing but Pure Gold in that City." She also loved "Amazing Grace", but she would tell you that she wanted to hear Aretha Franklin sing it! Lucille was on the kitchen committee for Sweet Gum, and she loved to cook for everybody. If you couldn't come, she would send you a plate. She loved making potato salad, macaroni and cheese, dressing, and her famous banana pudding. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. James Alton Gore, Jr., her two sons Mack Ray Little and Kevin Lynard Gore, and her brother John L. Little. Her life and legacy will forever be cherished through her family ~ daughter, Yvonne Boyd of the home; stepson Tony Young (Janice); eight grandchildren: Audrey, Adrian, Taquaila, Tokorra, Cagney, Brandon, Joycelyn, Billy, Tiki, Belinda, Mary and Michael; forty-one great-grands; sixteen great-great-grands; one sister: Ida Pearl Green; one brother: Lloyd Little; five sister-in-laws: Lillie Mae Little, Altouise Pierce, Sandra Stackhouse, Lena Stackhouse, Jackie Gore; one brother-in-law: James Powell; a special care giver: Dalesiah Smith. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other grandchildren that her chose along the way.
