Conway... Mary Addie Hardwick passed away on January 25, 2019. She was born January 21, 1931, in Horry County, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Harvey L. Richardson and Lillian Johnson Richardson. She was married to W. Tony Hardwick on December 18, 1947, and they were happily married until his death on December 28, 1991. She was predeceased by a brother, L.B. Richardson (Helen) and a special niece, Pam Koon (Alton), both of whom she loved dearly. Surviving are one son, Terry Hardwick (Linda) of Conway; one daughter, Lill H. Hardee (Jerry) of Conway; six grandchildren, Clint Hardwick (Jill), Teresa Jordan (Mike), Mike Hardwick, Jason Hardee (Michelle), Brian Hardee (Jessica), Mary Howell (Andy); 13 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild. She is also survived by a special niece, Myra Jones (Joey), and special nephews, Len Richardson (Sara Ann), and Mike Richardson (Kathy). As she was best known, "Mary Addie" was an active lifelong member of Brown Swamp UMC. She loved her family, her farm, and her garden and will be remembered for always making the things around her beautiful. She was strong willed and tireless, always devoted to family, and always putting others before her own self. Throughout her life, she shared ownership of several businesses, including: Waccamaw Wholesale, Waccamaw Distributors, Aynor True Value, while also working as a hairdresser, farmer, and seamstress. In her last years, she was an integral part of Terry's Do It Best Hardware. The true character of Mary Addie can never be captured in words and she will be dearly loved and missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank the following devoted caretakers who demonstrated kindness and love to Mary: Elizabeth Jordan; Catherine Davis, Jane Martin, and Roxanne Herion. Additionally, the family would like to thank Agape Hospice for all their assistance. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Brown Swamp United Methodist Church with Reverend Ann D. Kovan and Reverend Clint Hardwick officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, at the church.
