Olin T. Clardy

Olin ?O.T.? T. Clardy, II age 83, of the Peachtree community, died Saturday December 25, 2004 at Waccamaw Community Hospital. Born March 28, 1921, he was a son of the late Authur Milton and Martha Wilson Clardy. He attended schools of Horry County and graduated from Socastee High School in 1938. Mr. Clardy entered the U.S. Army Air Corps on June 24, 1940 , serving During WWII in the Pacific and European Theaters as a radio operator on B-17?s and was a Tech SGT when discharged on June 25, 1945. He was married to his wife, Lydia Willard Clardy on October 10, 1946 at the First United Methodist Church of Myrtle Beach. He worked in Civil Service for the Charleston Naval Shipyard as an electronic mechanic and Advanced radio mechanic from January 10, 1951 to April 17, 1953. Mr. Clardy was self employed with Coastal Radio & TV of Myrtle Beach from 1954 to 1987. He worked from 1995 until October of 2004 at Barnett Medical Supply in Conway. Mr. Clardy was an active member of the 7th Day Adventist Church of Myrtle Beach where he was an Elder of the church and served on several church boards. He was a member of the American Legion and the Myrtle Beach Civitans. Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters; Paulette Bowers and husband Jerry of Myrtle Beach, Deborah Ciaffa and Husband Anthony of LeMars, IA; son, Randy Clardy and wife Judy of Myrtle Beach, ten grandchildren; Kristy Usher and Husband Steve; Kevin Bowers and wife Ranell; Amanda Warren and husband Clyde; Sheena Ciaffa; Anthony Ciaffa, III and wife, Sarah; Christopher Ciaffa; Robert Ciaffa; Ashley Clardy and Nicholas Clardy, step grandchildren Johnny Wood and Stephanie Johnson and husband Mike, Jason wood and Billy Wood, great-grandchildren, Hannah Usher; Carley Usher and Jacob Bowers, seven step great grandchildren and Many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers; Wilford Clardy and Joseph Clardy; one sister, Lois Smith and a granddaughter Lynette Bowers. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, December 28, at the 7th Day Adventist Church of Myrtle Beach. Burial with Military Honors will be at Cedar Creek Cemetery in Little River. The family will receive friends between the hours of 5 PM and 7 PM Monday, December 27, 2004 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the 7th Day Adventist Church of Myrtle Beach, 900 62nd Ave. N., Myrtle Beach, SC 29578
