Patricia “Pat” W. Chenault (80) of Surfside Beach, peacefully passed away at home Tuesday morning, January 23, 2024 She was surrounded by her family and in the loving arms of her husband. Pat was born in Fayetteville, NC, the daughter of the late Stacy and Geneva Williams. She attended Massey Hill High School where she graduated in 1961. It is in her hometown where she met the love of her life and devoted husband of 59 years and companion for 64 years, Clarence W. “Woody” Chenault. Patricia journeyed alongside Woody across the globe during his service in the United States Air Force until his retirement in 1980. They have called Surfside Beach home since 1973. Some of her most cherished memories revolved around her role as an active band parent during her daughter's high school years. In 1996, she proudly earned the title of Band Parent of the Year, reflecting her dedication and passion for supporting the musical journey of young minds. She cherished her time working at Myrtle Beach State Park, where she found joy in connecting with new people and engaging in heartfelt conversations. Pat, a compassionate and selfless soul, had a deep love for animals. She would take walks around the neighborhood, spreading joy by giving treats to all the dogs she encountered. A faithful member of Garden City Baptist Church for over 40 years, Pat's warm spirit and generosity touched the lives of many. Pat also found joy in sharing her testimony, hoping to inspire others with her experiences. Pat is preceded in death by her loving parents Stacy and Geneva Williams She is survived by her devoted husband Clarence W. “Woody” Chenault and loving daughter Tonya Castora of Middletown, DE, son-in-law Kevin Castora, and cherished grandchildren Chase and Chloe who she loved and adored and always spoke of wherever she went. She is also remembered fondly by her sister-in-laws Jean Stapler of Winterville, NC, Patricia Pleasant of Fayetteville, NC, and brother-in-law Lee Chenault of Fort Lauderdale, FL. She will be dearly missed by her faithful canine companion Cash, who was by her side until the very end. A caring soul, Patricia touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness. She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts. May she rest in peace. The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on February 1 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.
