Paul R. Zona, age 60, passed on the day of our Lord October 29th , 2021 at Sea Coast Hospital, South Carolina. Born May 21, 1961 in Myrtle Beach, he was preceded in death by his father Paul R. Zona and the late Bobie Zona (Watts) of Tabor City, North Carolina. Surviving are his wife of 32 years Roseann Zona (Arieta); 2 children Jenny Rebeka Ault (Zona) of Lansford PA, and Laura Olson of Michigan; one grandchild Dante Ault. Paul was a 1979 graduate of Panther Valley High School, received his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice at Penn State University in 1983 and his Master's Degree in Criminal Justice at Shippensburg University in 1999. He began his career in Carbon County working as a Correctional Officer at the Carbon County Prison. Three years ago he retired from the Carbon County Juvenile Court Office where he held the position of a Juvenile Probation Officer for over 25 years. He was also employed part time for 27 years prior to retiring with Behavioral Health Associates, Lehighton, PA serving as a Mobile Therapist and a TSS worker. Paul touched the lives of many during his career and made a valuable impact upon those he served. He took pride in his work as a Probation Officer and put his heart and soul into guiding youth in the right direction. He impacted the lives of everyone he met and he was truly a man of integrity. He enjoyed many hobbies that gave him much fulfillment, such as hiking, fishing and he had a love for History which he enjoyed learning and recreating. He was truly a Renaissance man. Paul had the opportunity to travel to many different countries and enjoyed and appreciated each culture. His love for life was fulfilled by his many adventures which will never be forgotten by his family. He enjoyed reading, watching movies and had a true love of motorcycles, which he could never get enough of. He would reminisce and tell stories of his adventures and misadventures to anyone who would listen. He loved his household pets and he and his wife would provide loving homes to stray cats. He loved his family, friends, co-workers and life. He will be missed dearly. Memorial Services will be held at Trinity Free Will Baptist Church,1469 Highway 646, Loris SC,29569 at 7:30 p.m on November 10th , 2021. Also, a memorial service will be held in Lansford, Pennsylvania, at a date and time to be announced. Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects.
