Percie Mae King, 83, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 1, 2026, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Surrounded by the love of her family, she departed this life with grace, leaving behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and love that will be cherished by all who knew her. Born in Alexandria, Louisiana, she graduated from high school before marrying and relocating to Newark, New Jersey, where she made her home for 30 years. She later moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, to be closer to her family. There, she dedicated 20 years of service as an employee at the Super 8, where her strong work ethic and friendly spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Affectionately known as the "Mayor of Forestbrook," she was rarely without a smile and was a familiar face throughout the community. She loved taking long walks, making friends wherever she went, and brightening the lives of those around her with her warm personality, kindness, and genuine love for people. Percie Mae King was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, beloved family member, and cherished friend whose love and kindness touched the lives of everyone she met. She will be remembered for her compassionate heart, unwavering strength, generous spirit, and deep devotion to her family. Her life was a beautiful testament to faith, love, selflessness, and the enduring importance of family, leaving a legacy that will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her. Percie Mae King is survived by her daughter, Vanessa Lester (Joe); her grandchildren, Joseph Lester (Lauren) and Andre Lester (Tiffany); and her great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Weston, Silas, and Maxwell. She is also survived by her beloved nieces, Carol Gillard, Iris Turner, and Anita Hamm, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply. She was preceded in death by her parents, Percy Williams and Christina Davis; her siblings, Rev. Abraham Davis, Herbert, Wilson, Anthony and Philomena; and her niece, Gretenal Davis. Family and friends will forever treasure the memories they shared with Percie. Her unwavering faith for the lord, guidance, and devotion will continue to live on through those whose lives she touched. Services will be held on August 6, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Beach Church, 557 George Bishop Parkway - Myrtle Beach, SC 29579. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
