Murrells Inlet.....Philip Chris Lolos age 72, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Waccamaw Community Hospital. Mr. Lolos was born on July 15, 1937 in Fairmont, WV, a son of the late Christos and Irene Lolos. He was educated in West Virginia and Ohio Grade and High Schools and attended Ohio University. He later served his country by enlisting in the United States Marines Corps and spent time in Okinawa, Japan. All of his working life was spent as a Sales Executive with the Railroad Industry in St. Louis, Missouri (Conrail). Phil and Sylvia were both active and long standing members of Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church in Pawley’s Island. In addition, Phil was an avid model train collector and enjoyed showing visitors his extensive lay-outs. For 35 years Phil was dedicated and passionate about officiating High School Basketball games, and he was regarded as one of the top officials in the states of Missouri and South Carolina. Survivors include his beloved wife, Sylvia (Weghorst) Lolos of Murrells Inlet; six children; Lana Brown (James) of Alexandria, VA, Chris Lolos of Orangeburg, Alex Lolos of St. Louis, MO; Gary Sullivan (Janice) of St. Louis, MO; Kimberly Dolby (Jeff) of Denver, CO and Jill VanDeel (Roger) of Buena Vista, CO; six grandchildren, Angelina Brown and Nicholas Brown of Alexandria, VA; Kelly Blankenship (Jeff) of St. Louis. MO, Amanda Sullivan of St. Louis, MO, Nathan Van Deel, and Lilyana Dolby of CO and great-granddaughter, Caroline Blankenship of St. Louis, MO; three sisters, Patricia Haugh (Jack) of Pawleys Island, Linda Egar (Bob) of Cincinnati Ohio, and Angela McGovern (Tom) of Columbus, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial for Phil will be held at 12 noon Monday, March 28, 2011 at Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church with Father Pat Stenson officiating. Family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 PM Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.
