Raymond Debbisi, 75, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, passed away on August 18, 2022. Ray was born on August 7, 1947, in Amman, Jordan to Jadaan and Shukriyyah Debbisi. He leaves behind his loving wife, Christine Debbisi, his son, Craig Raymond Debbisi ; wife Melissa of Southington, CT, two daughters, Tracy Benson of Nokomis, FL and Carrie Sweeney & husband Mike, of Wolcott, CT, four grandchildren, Michael Sweeney & wife Ashley, Christina Benson, Dr. Kimberly Benson, Alyssa Debbisi, and his great grandson, Michael Hayden Sweeney. He also leaves behind his two stepdaughters, Wendy Bykowicz, of Manapalan, NJ, Suzanne Bruno of Spotswood, NJ, and one stepson, Daniel Bykowicz of Myrtle Beach, SC and three stepgrandchildren, Paul Bruno, Jennifer Bruno-Aigeldinger and Dean Soper. Ray also leaves behind four sisters and four brothers and many other cousins and family members. He is predeceased by his parents and one sister. Ray spent his early years in Jordan, before moving to the United States at the age of 19. He was a long-term resident of Waterbury, CT before retiring to Murrells Inlet. Ray was acompassionate, loving and hard-working husband and father. After coming to the United States, he opened his own restaurant, ran a catering business, was the House Chairman at the Lega of Siciliana Social Club and spent most of his career working at Bridgeport Correctional Facility. He was a gracious host and his greatest joy came from cooking for his family and friends. Ray was devoted to his faith, trusted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and was a long-time member of Surfside Presbyterian Church where he served as a Greeter and Usher and was involved in Men’s Bible Study. He was an active board member of his housing community’s association. He enjoyed tending to his gardens, drawing and playing cards with friends. He had a huge heart and loved his beloved dog, Sophie. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. The Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 24, 2022, with a viewing one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM, at Surfside Presbyterian Church, 8732 US Hwy 17 Bypass S. Myrtle Beach, SC 29588, followed by a lunch at the church. The service will be live streamed for anyone who is unable to make it at https://surfsidepca.com/live-stream/
