Rodney Marshall Lancaster, 67, passed away unexpectedly Friday, January 26th, 2024. Born July 9th, 1956, in Spartanburg, SC. He was the son of the late Roy Marshall Lancaster, and the late June Lancaster Cline. Rodney was predeceased by his daughter, Karen Bobo and his grandson Gavin Brunetti. Survivors are his wife of 33 years, Connie Lancaster. His siblings Jane Hoffman and husband Vann, David Lancaster and wife Angela, Dexter Cline Jr. and wife Debbie, Jan Evans, Diane Aden and husband Steve, and Richard Cline. His children Marshall Lancaster and wife Bri, Oleta Rheuark and husband Mack, Emilie Scott, Valarie Brunetti and husband Dana, Daniel Bobo; sister-in-law Cathy McLean and husband Gary; brother-in-law Jerry Clary. His grandchildren Jayce and Averie Lancaster, Lauren Jackson and husband Nick, Remington Scott (Alyxandra), Harrison Scott, Grayson and Jack Brunetti; and great-grandchildren Klayton, Boone, Huck, and Oakland Jackson. Rodney was also loved by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rodney also shared a special friendship with Robert and Joanna Pastomerlo and family. Rodney was a family man. He was an avid outdoorsman, tradesman, and traveler who loved to fish and cook, fish frys for his family was his specialty. He specifically enjoyed traveling in their camper with his wife Connie and looked forward to camping at Darlington Raceway with his family. In the last five years, he took on one of his most important roles as Jayce’s and Averie’s PawPaw. Trips on the golf cart to the park, and to get ice cream were some of their favorite things to do together. If you thought Rodney beamed with joy over his son Marshall, you should have seen him with his newest grandbabies. Rodney will be remembered for his generosity. He was always helping others, from grilling for the St. James baseball concessions, to helping out on the little league field, to opening up his home to friends when they needed a place to stay. Rodney made an impact on so many lives, and was fondly known as, “The Mayor,” of his neighborhood. As our family sits together now to type this obituary, the stories we are sharing of Rodney have filled us with so much joy. Rodney never met a stranger. The saying is true if you knew Rodney you were the lucky one. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 12, 2024, at Surfside Presbyterian Church.
