SSG Samuel Munoz, 33, husband of Tabitha Beam Munoz, passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 16, 2019 in Georgia. February 24, 1986 a bright light was born to Samuel and Carmen Munoz. He was taught from the very beginning that family is everything and to treasure it. In his short 33 years he changed lives, saved many, and even helped start a few more - four to be exact. He taught his sons what it meant to be honorable and his daughter that she deserved to be treated like a Queen. Sam was many things depending on who you were talking to. Sam. Samuelito. Daddy. Solider. A fish. Each descriptor saying something different than the last but each conveying the same message. Sam was a man of love, honor, loyalty, respect, and a jovial spirit. His children describe him as brave, funny, well dressed, and a dancing man. They will cherish these memories for many days long beyond now. His wife calls him a fish, a man intrigued with anything in the water. Fishing, boating, swimming; anywhere, anytime, if there was water, Sam was in. His friends describe him as an excellent host that served up all sorts of delicious meals and entertainment, especially his chicken bog. They remember all of the times he was there for them and his ridiculous love of the color purple. He never met a stranger and never met a soul he didn't love. Sam leaves far more than the list of family members and endless list of friends. He leaves behind a lifetime of laughter and more love for his family and friends than he knew what to do with. He leaves behind his children who he lovingly referred to as Papi, Mama, Flaco, and Gordo. He adored his children and his children adore him. Sam was a bright light though dark days and dark times. His light will continue to shine, just look in his children's eyes and you'll see it. Sam proudly served his country as a Tank Commander in the U. S. Army for 13 years and has been deployed to Iraq, Norway, Poland, Germany, and South Korea. SSG Munoz was predeceased in death by his maternal grandfather, Luis Moreu and his brother-in-law, Justin Beam. Survivors include his wife, Tabitha Beam Munoz; his children, Samuel Joah Munoz, Kyler Justin Munoz, Aria Nicolette Munoz, and Kacen Jeremiah Munoz; his parents, Samuel and Carmen Munoz; his sister, Katherine Munoz Rowell; brother-in-law Randall Rowell; his brothers, Jeremy Munoz and Andrew Munoz; his paternal grandparents, Geraldo and Judith Munoz; his maternal grandmother, Isabel Portalatin; his brother-in-law, KJ Beam; his father-in-law, Keevin Beam; a very special Aunt, Crystal Gasque and A Special Uncle Mark Gasque. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and other extended family. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Friday, September 27, 2019 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel, officiated by Rev. Eric Wilder and Rev. Danny Banks. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening, September 26, 2019 from 6:00PM-8:00PM. A Memorial Inurnment will take place at the Christian Church in Forestbrook at 11:00AM Sunday, September 29, 2019.
