Susan Lee Parsons, age 70, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, November 7, 2025. Wife, momma, sister, aunt, teacher, grandmother and friend to many; Susan embodied the very essence of a beautiful soul. Her love for the Lord, family, friends and passion for her students was a true inspiration to many. Her absence from this earth will leave an irreplaceable void, but she is with Jesus now. Susan was a member of South Strand Assembly of God where she assisted with several ministries, including the food bank, praise team and early on, went on several mission trips overseas. She was a teacher, librarian and reading specialist who over her career years, enjoyed time at Calvary Christian School, Pawleys Island Christian Academy, and most recently Lowcountry Preparatory School. Susan was part of the “Marlin Moms” prayer group at Lowcountry Prep and was known for bringing her amazing sense of style to the school. They recently dedicated their library to her naming it, “The Parsons Library” and she was able to attend this special honor. She was known for being the “life of the party” and could light up any room with her smile. Susan is survived by her husband of 45 years, Tom of Murrells Inlet, daughter; Ashley and husband Bubba McDaniel of Murrells Inlet, a son; Christopher and wife Tamara Parsons of Murrells Inlet, grandchildren; Leo and Lochlan McDaniel and Colson Thomas Parsons, brothers; Mark and wife Brenda Cunningham of Garner, NC and Scott and wife Lisa of Calabash, NC. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 PM at South Strand Assembly of God Church on Thursday, November 13, 2025. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. (Per Susan’s wishes) the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to her grandsons tuition fund at Lowcountry Preparatory School 300 Blue Stem Drive Pawleys Island, SC 29585. While we know that this is a temporary separation, the hole in our hearts is permanent. She is rejoicing in the joy of being welcomed home hearing “well done thy good and faithful servant.” An online guestbook is available at www.goldfinchfuneralhome.com.
