Longs.... Thaddeus (Tim) Riggins, a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, 71 years old departed this life in his home in Longs South Carolina on September 20 th , 2024. He was born in Loris, South Carolina to Eveline Richardson and Clarence Geralds. Thaddeus attended school in Loris, South Carolina and worked at United Van Lines for over thirty-five years. He served for five years in the United States Marine Corps, including two years in Vietnam attaining the rank of Sargeant. He completed his service in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and was honorably discharged in 1977. While serving his country, he earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal and a Meritorious Mast. He was proud to have done his duty to defend the freedom and democracy of citizens across the United States of America. Thaddeus was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) organization in Charleston, SC. He was the embodiment of hospitality; it was clear when you visited his home that he ensured you wanted for nothing. Thaddeus was preceded in death by his mother Eveline Richardson and his father Clarence Geralds. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Ramona Riggins, 4 sons: Oris Mays, Thaddeus Parker, Timothy Williams, Demond Lewis, and 1 daughter Jaquana Covington. He is also survived by 3 stepsons: Raymond (Patty) Key, Ralph (Helene) Key, and Ali Key, 3 stepdaughters: Denise (Mack) Guinn, Marion Key, and Lachean (Ro) Kimbrough. 8 Sisters: Pauline Kelly, Della (Buford) Tann, Betty Geralds, Mae Geralds, Cheryl Geralds, Terry Geralds, Patricia Geralds, Annie Geralds and 2 brothers: Vonzie Riggins, and Billy Geralds and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and his loving best friend Chance (scootapoo) Riggins. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 11:00 am at Goldfinch Funeral Home Loris Chapel with Bishop Billy Gore officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Special Thanks to all our friends and family who came out to show their support in our time of sorrow.
