North Myrtle Beach Mrs. Wendy Boyd, 75, wife of John B. Boyd, departed this earth and entered into eternal rest with her heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born May 18, 1948 in Loris, she was the daughter of the late W. L. "Willie" Hickman and the late Barbara Roupp Hickman. Wendy began her career as a registered cosmetologist before joining John as his partner in their company, Low Country Landscaping. They worked together for more than 25 years until Wendy's retirement. She was an active member of Chapel By The Sea Baptist Church and a former member of Loris First Baptist Church where she served for a period as chairwoman of the decorating committee. She and John loved to travel and visited many exciting locations later in life, including a Hawaiian vacation to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Wendy was passionate about gardening; playing with her dog, Ella; and the challenge of crossword and sudoku puzzles. Above all else she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose favorite pastime was simply being with loved ones. In addition to her parents, Wendy was predeceased by her brother, "Corky" Hickman. Survivors include her loving husband, John B. Boyd, and together, they would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary in January. She is also survived by her children, Ben Boyd, and his husband, Dennis Adamson, of New York City, NY, and Laura Nobles and her husband, Rev. Dewayne Nobles, of Tabor City, NC; her grandchildren, Dristan Nobles, Yana Nobles, and Aisha Nobles; and her sister-in-law, Shirley Hickman. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Friday, December 29, 2023 at Loris First Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Dewayne Nobles and Rev. Roger Carr. The service will be live streamed and can be viewed at: https://www.youtube.com/@LorisFirstBaptist. A committal service will follow at Twin City Memorial Gardens.
