LORIS… William Andrew “Bill” Sembert, Sr., age 65, of the Cane Branch Community of Horry County passed away Friday, March 23, 2007 at his residence following a sudden illness. Mr. Sembert was born October 9, 1941 in Niagra Falls, New York, a son of the late Andrew H. Sembert and the late Ann E. Mayo Sembert. He married the former Barbara Ann Kaminska January 8, 1963. Mr. Sembert attended the Catholic Church of the Resurrection in Loris and was a member of Loris Lodge #205 A.F.M. and a past Worshipful Master of Hiram Lodge #25 A.F. & A.M. He was also a member of the Omar Shrine and was a Road Runner Transport Driver as well as a member of the Omar Hillbillies Clan 82 Outhouse 2. Mr. Sembert was a member of the Waccamaw Shrine Club in Conway and was a member and secretary of The Blue Knights, South Carolina Chapter 4 and a member and Secretary/Treasurer of The Blue Knights, Delaware Chapter 1. He was a member of The Gold Wing Road Riders Chapter J of Myrtle Beach and was a former police officer for 17 years in Elkton, Maryland. Mr. Sembert was a member of the Singerly Fire Company in Elkton, Maryland and retired from Thiokol as a Test Engineer. Survivors include: his wife: Barbara K. Sembert of the home, his mother-in-law: Frances Kaminska of Niagra Falls, New York, four children: William A. Sembert, Jr. and his wife Sandra of Easley, SC, Frances S. Timchula and her husband Rocky of Chesapeake City, Maryland, Steven Sembert and his wife Susan of Charlestown, Maryland, and Laura S. Hammett and her husband George of Mechanicsville, Maryland, 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday, 26, 2007 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Ward Funeral Home in Loris. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 followed be Masonic Rites. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at 3:00 PM from The Catholic Church of the Resurrection in Loris. Father John Silver and Deacon Jim Collins will officiate. Burial will be private. The family requests that those who wish may send memorials to the Omar Shrine Temple, 176 Patriot’s Point, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464. Please designate either the funds go to The Shrines Hospital or to the Omar Shriners Transportation Fund. Ward Funeral Home of Loris, 843-756-9273, is serving the family.
