Barry James McDonald

January 6, 1935 - March 9, 2021

Barry James McDonald, of Murrells Inlet, passed away on March 9, 2021 with his wife and daughter by his side. He was born to the late James Hector McDonald, and Florence May McDonald, January 6th in Birmingham England. Barry joined the British Army Catering Corp in 1953 until his discharge in 1955. He then worked for the Birmingham City Transport where he met his wife Honoria (Nora) Watchorn. They were married in February 1960. They traveled to the USA on the final trip of the Queen Mary, arriving March 16th 1964 Barry worked at Hoffman La Roche as a lab tech and retired after 31 years. They moved from Clifton NJ to Murrells Inlet SC to enjoy their retirement. He loved to volunteer and play golf. He was an avid stamp and coin collector. He is survived by his wife Nora of 61 years, daughter Christine and her husband Lou. A beloved PAPA to his granddaughters, Olivia and Natalie. Sister Mena in Birmingham England preceded by her husband Ron and Brother Michael and his wife Mary in Wales, UK. Many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
